I ordered a few bike parts from universalcycles.com and everything showed up in good shape. The box had a couple small dents, but the parts inside were wrapped well and nothing was scratched or damaged. It wasn’t anything fancy, just packed the way it should be. There was a decent amount of paper to break down afterward, but I’d rather deal with that than damaged parts. Solid overall, 4 stars from me.

The prices seemed decent, so I was willing to give the site a chance, but actually using it got frustrating fast. I’d search for something specific and get a bunch of random results, then end up clicking around way more than I should have had to.

A lot of the pages felt outdated too, with tiny text and way too much crammed in. The filters didn’t really narrow things down in a helpful way, and whenever I tried going back to the results, it felt clunky instead of smooth.
I did eventually find what I needed, but it took too much effort. The company really needs to take responsibility for keeping the site usable, because customers shouldn’t have to fight the website just to place an order

I accidentally ordered the wrong size part from universalcycles.com and had to exchange it. Compared to other online bike shops I’ve dealt with, this was painless. They got back to me quickly, I sent the part back, and the right one showed up without any hassle. i was expecting it to be more annoying than it was. I’d definitely order from them again.

So... I’ve ended up coming back here a bunch because they seem to have way more of the little random bike parts than most shops I’ve looked at. I found some odd spacers, the brake pads I needed, and even a tire size I couldn’t track down anywhere else. The site isn’t super fancy or anything, but the selection is really solid and it’s easy to find what you need.

So... the specs listed were exactly what showed up. No surprises, which I really appreciated.

Universal Cycles helped me out with a warranty issue quickly. I was kind of expecting the usual back and forth, but... their reply was clear, there was no runaround, and they got it sorted without turning it into a big hassle.

Shipping hasn’t always been super fast or anything, but for what I paid it felt fair, and everything arrived correct and packed just fine, so I don’t really have any complaints and I’d order from them again when I need more parts...

I was trying to check out, but my payment kept failing and I couldn’t figure out why. There wasn’t any clear message telling me what went wrong or what I was supposed to do next, so I just kept retrying and getting annoyed. The whole process felt way more confusing than it should have.

I reached out with a basic question and it took days just to get a reply. Come on now, it shouldn’t be that hard to get a simple response from customer service.

Their part listings are easy to understand, shipping has been totally fine, and it’s just nice dealing with a shop that feels like the people there actually ride and work on bikes.

I was trying to track down a odd derailleur hanger and couldn’t find it anywhere else, but they actually had it. Nice little surprise. If you’re hunting for a random or hard-to-find bike part, they’re probably worth checking out
